Sport is a universal tool to bring individuals and communities together to discuss social and economic issues that affect us all. Global Pro aims to support the development of long-term, mutually beneficial sports relationships in developing communities around the world, and to shape the leaders of tomorrow by giving young people enhanced leadership skills as well as sport-specific development.

Who we are

Founded by NJ

I’m Njabulo Zwane, founder of Global Pro and a Level 4 tennis coach in Scotland. I visit Eswatini every year and have started helping with tennis coaching and sports volunteering programmes, a passion of mine from before I left for the UK.

Besides organising tennis tournaments for children aged 5–14, I donate sports kits to the Enkhanini community. I am eager to collaborate with anyone willing to break cultural and gender barriers for a better world.

Our vision

Three things we work on

Sport coaching and participation

We want to use sports as a tool to educate, empower and eliminate social barriers. Sport plays such a key role in our society and is critical to the development of children. It teaches them core values such as teamwork, respect, compromise and leadership, as well as improving health and general mental wellbeing.

Global Pro also provides opportunities for individuals from around the world who wish to develop their skills through volunteering in sports coaching and other volunteer opportunities in Southern Africa.

Sports for development programmes can become a powerful tool for development and learning. They promote participation, inclusion, human values, acceptance of rules, discipline, health promotion, non-violence, tolerance, gender equality and teamwork. These programmes can directly address issues that are visible in less developed communities.

Education

Through sports participation, Global Pro aims to promote the importance of education, as well as supporting children into education through sponsorships and funding.

Education is our main focus as it is key to lifting people out of poverty. It gives people the skills to not only earn money, but also improve their basic daily knowledge. It is a sustainable tool that helps someone not for one day but for a lifetime, and can be passed down through generations.

Female empowerment

We aim to encourage more female participation in sports and in leadership roles throughout coaching, organisations and refereeing, and to create opportunities for young girls to get involved in sports, in particular sports coaching.

The gender gap in physical activity and sports participation starts early, and women remain underrepresented in sports such as tennis and football in the Kingdom of Eswatini. This programme aims to increase the number of women and girls in sports leadership and coaching roles in Lobamba, especially in tennis and football.

Our aims

How we make it happen

01

Train

Train local teachers and volunteers on sport leaders courses, so they can plan, deliver and evaluate sport sessions, with sport-specific courses delivered through national governing bodies and a majority of female representatives.

02

Educate

Educate participants about the benefits of sport and exercise and the dangers of drugs and unsafe practices, working with the local police and clinic, and source financial help for orphaned children forced out of school.

03

Volunteer exchange

Provide volunteering opportunities for gap year students and others who want to help deliver our vision in Eswatini, including teaching new sports and volunteering in the capital, Lobamba.

Get involved

Every little bit counts

Whether it’s organising a local sporting equipment drive or coming out to Eswatini to help run sporting events, we’re always looking for new ways for people to help.

Volunteer in Eswatini

Come out to the Kingdom for a few weeks and help teach sports in schools and the local community. We are working with schools and sporting associations to implement this scheme.

Donate sports equipment

We collect and send used sports equipment and clothing to Eswatini: tennis balls, footballs, volleyball nets, rackets, rugby balls and more. All donations are appreciated.

Support a child’s education

Help a child stay in school through sponsorship and funding. Get in touch to find out how.

Donate

Donations cover shipping for equipment, buying new equipment and helping us deliver our vision. We truly value every donation.
